Symptoms of a Bladder Infection in Cats and Dogs

Bladder infections are quite common and can be very painful.  Left untreated, the infection can spread to the kidneys. It’s important for you to watch for any symptom of a bladder infection:

Most Common Signs of a Dog or  Cat Bladder Infection

  • Frequent urination
  • Straining to urinate
  • Waking up in the night to urinate
  • Blood or mucus with urination
  • Excessive licking at the genital area
  • "Accidents" or urinating in unusual places (maybe even right in front of you)
  • Excessive water drinking
  • Crying or meowing
  • Spraying outside the litter box
  • Urine may have a strong odor

Symptoms can sometimes show up at inopportune times (e.g. houseguests are in for the holidays) but be sure to take your cat or dog for a quick urine check at the veterinarian.  Holistic care should not be a replacement for conventional veterinary care but rather an additional treatment to help cure and prevent future infections.  Many times, the infection will return a few weeks after the meidcation is finished.. Holistic care offers you more choices and treatment options to help your pet.   Pet UTI Prevention formula in combination with Power Probiotic and Akutur has helped many pets get relief from the painful symptoms of a bladder infection.
