AVMA Urges Smokers To Consider the Effects of Second Hand Smoke on Their Pets

No Smoking
Second Hand Smoke is Harmful to Pets
The AVMA is urging pet owners to try to stop smoking, not just for their own sake but their families and pets.  Because pets share our environments, their health is greatly effected by second hand smoke.  Many research studies have shown the harmful effects of second hand smoke on other people, as well as pets.  You can view the full story and research by clicking on this link.

Dogs living in homes with smokers have significantly higher levels of cotinine (a breakdown product of nicotine) in their blood and have a higher risk of cancer.    Cats that live with smokers are twice as likely to develop malignant lymphoma and the risk increased with the amount of exposure and duration.

Spunky 12 Year Old Labrador Still Happy and Lively with the Help of Ask Ariel Products

Bailey

Our goal is to provide the highest quality products to help pets have the best quality of life possible. We recently received this email and it fills us with pride to know we are making a difference.

"Bailey is an amazing girl and extremely humanistic with a very happy and lively soul.  She is so full of spunk for the ripe age of 12.  She has been taking supplements from Ask Ariel for several years and I know they have helped with the aging process. Even Bailey won’t let you forget to give her the supplements and has quite the daily routine. She will follow you around and herd you into the kitchen until she gets them (however, it probably is because we give them to her in a bite of yam). The Power Probiotic for Pets, Liver&Gallbladder  Supplement  for Pets and Canine Cushing's Support  are a few products (of the many Ask Ariel products) that have been especially helpful in keeping Bailey healthy.

Thank You all for the love, kindness and support you give to each and every one of us."

Natural Treatments For Dogs With Hip Dysplasia

What is Hip Dysplasia? It is an inherited condition where the hip joint is not properly formed and with use, the loose joint, can become painful. It is most commonly seen in larger breed dogs such as; Great Dane, Saint Bernard, Labs, Retrievers, and German Shepherd (rarely seen in smaller breeds). It can be found in both male and females and can be seen in puppies as well as middle aged dogs through a physical exam and x-rays.  The condition tends to become worse as the dog ages.

Common Symptoms of Dogs With Hip Dysplasia
  • Limping
  • Difficulty in climbing stairs
  • Seems stiff/ sore getting up from a laying position
  • Hesitates to exercise; avoids running and jumping
  • Unusual gait

Natural Treatments For Dogs with Hip Dysplasia
Treatment will depend on the severity of the condition (which can range from mild to severe) and may include surgical and/or non- surgical options. Acuscope, chiropractic, acupuncture are non-surgical options that can all greatly help. Helping your pet maintain a healthy weight is essential as it will lessen the pressure on the hip joint.  Holistic supplements can greatly aid dogs with hip dysplasia and the benefits build up over time.  First and foremost use the Joint Support Kit but also Special SAMe will help relieve pain as well.  Special SAMe contains an essential antioxidant that has been scientifically proven to help with arthritis and also support the liver.  This is an ideal product for an older dog with hip dysplasia.  Finally, regular exercise is important.  It's better to have lots of short walks rather than one long extended walk to prevent your pet from getting sore.  Keeping your pet mobile throughout the day rather than confined in a small area will relieve discomfort as well.

Supplements Help Labrador Retriever With Many Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs)

Cali
"My precious labrador retriever Cali had 9 urinary tract infections in a row over a 1 year period. We took her to a veterinary specialist many times and spent a great deal on veterinary tests. No sooner that we stopped the antibiotics, the infection would return. We spoke with Susan and integrated her holistic approach into Cali's veterinary care. We used the Ask Ariel Pet UTI Prevention Formula, Power Probiotic, Quentans and Notatum capsules along with the diet that Ask Ariel recommended. I am happy to report that a year later, Cali has not had any more infections."
